Or better yet, do you ever run early?
I find myself praying the Christian Stoplight Prayer wherever I go. This is especially true for church on Sunday mornings.
My family passes under five stoplights on the way. This is what I pray as I put the car in reverse.
Nothing is too hard for you!
You created the sun and the moon.
I have faith that you can control stoplights.
Father, part this sea of traffic like you did for Moses.
Don't allow those who don't fear you to keep me from you.
Keep me on the narrow road that leads to timeliness.
Don't let the enemy defeat me.
The demons shutter at your name.
Make the stoplights do the same.
With the faith of a mustard seed I can move mountains.
Moving a stoplight should be even easier.
So I will raise a hand towards every stoplight in faith for green.
You said that we don't receive because we don't ask,
I'm asking that you keep every light green.
What kind of father would give a stone to his child when he asks for bread,
Or a snake when he asks for a fish?
All I'm asking is for green lights and long yellow lights.
You are my Sustainer.
You kept the sun standing still for Joshua,
You can keep yellow lights standing for a little while longer.
If a red light appears that's okay because trials and persecution are to come.
Your testing purifies me.
If I have found favor with you, turn it green and keep it green.
Your will be done.
Amen!
Oh and a nice parking spot would be nice. Thanks, peace out!
Play a little Tomlin in the background and God has to listen to you.
Question:
Do you ever find yourself praying about stoplights?
