How's 2013 going for you?
We are seven days into the New Year. Are you still keeping your goals?
Losing the lbs? Are you a New Year's Christian already? Shut off the smoke in the chimney stack? Habla espaƱol? Read a book without pictures? Eating more bacon? Broken your pull-up record? Made it through the first seven chapters of Leviticus? DVRing Duck Dynasty and Honey Boo Boo?
My youngest daughter, Chloe is working on her goal. Honestly, she is crushing it!
My wife and I asked her on New Year's Eve what she wanted to do better this year. She replied, "I want to get better at bowling."

My youngest daughter, Chloe is working on her goal. Honestly, she is crushing it!
My wife and I asked her on New Year's Eve what she wanted to do better this year. She replied, "I want to get better at bowling."
She was three last week when she said that. She had only bowled once in her life, besides on the Wii. But the heart wants what the hearts wants.
For her birthday, she could choose anything that she wanted to do. She chose bowling.
And she did great! She beat her older sister, Ellie. Only lost to her mom by nine pins. That's ridiculous! And the little fart even looked cuter than me in bowling shoes! Why can't Toms get in the game?

1) She allowed us to help her.
2) She received and even offer encouragement to us.
3) She showed up. She could have picked anything to do on her birthday, but she chose to bowling.
Have you ever failed in achieving your goals because you failed to allow others to help?
Have you ever failed to receive encouragement? Have you been jealous of a friend's success, so you refused to encourage them? Not that we would do that.
Or probably the number one reason you will fail at this year's resolutions: are you showing up?
Chloe still has a long way to go to be a good bowler, but she is on her way. Don't let a four-year-old show you up!
