Be Like Jesus?

Jesus didn't come as the world wanted him to come. He came as the world needed him to come.

That's what makes this simple prayer so powerful. It has been my prayer lately.

Most of my prayers are self-centered (nicer way to say selfish). I pray for things that I want. (Which isn't wrong.) My problem though is I try to church it up. I have this spiritual gift of making them sound spiritually great. I try to twist God's arm with my prayer requests.

God is pretty clever and seven times out ten he sees right through them (okay ten times out of ten).

When you pray to be more like Jesus, the things that are less like him get weeded out. Our view of Jesus, the world, ourselves and everything around us begins to change.

We are being transformed not as we want to be, but as we need to be.
