The Missing Link in Church Music

Why does your church's worship music sound like karaoke night at your local Mexican restaurant?

Not that all karaoke is bad and it goes great with a chimichanga. Did you know that karaoke means "empty orchestra" in Japanese? The Japanese language is able to make anything sound awesome. (Like the word Wasbi!) Sorry, but I don't know what chimichanga means.

You might not realize your church's music is lacking until this very moment. I didn't until I went to a music store in Nashville looking for a Taylor Swift guitar strap. The Taylor Swift strap was M.I.A., but I found something better.

And then my heart was broken thinking of how many churches are missing out on experiencing true worship.

This is the missing link in your church's worship music:

You have never worshipped in spirit and in truth until you've worshipped with a recorder. Check out the Hebrew, I think that's what Jesus meant while talking to the woman at the well.

When you hear the sweet squeal of the recorder playing Here I Am to Worship, your eyes will begin to sweat and you'll catch a glimpse of what heaven will be like. (Or at least that's what mine did.) The recorder has to be God's favorite instrument.

The recorder adds an indescribable element to music that anyone can play. Few people know this but Joel Houston of Hillsong United probably wrote every song on his last album with a recorder. It just works.

You should buy this and start practicing for the worship band today for your New Year's resolution (see #8). Your worship pastor will love you for it.

Which instrument do you think your church should be using that they aren't?
