It hasn't been due to a lack of writing.
Honestly, I've written a lot and that's why I'm blogging now.
Confused yet?
Last year, I read the entire series of The Chronicles of Narnia. To say the least, C.S. Lewis inspired me. I plopped down at my computer, turned on Pandora and with the likes of Seryn, Ascend the Hill, and Mumford and Son playing as a soundtrack, I started pecking away.
I started writing my first novel.
The manuscript was completed in July. After getting some guidance, wisdom, and encouragement from my friend and author, Nick Brown, I began looking for an agent or publisher. I was rejected. And then I was rejected again. And again. And then again. And then one more time.
That's okay, because the manuscript for 50 Shades of Grey was rejected as well. (Oh, bad example for the Christian culture right now?)
Most manuscripts are rejected.
The rejections didn't hurt (they didn't feel like a warm hug either).
The truth is, I'm not looking for a career change. I just wanted to channel some positive creativity & get it out there for others to hopefully enjoy as well.
Also, I didn't want to wait weeks on end to hear from publishers and agents.
So I decided to publish an ebook on Amazon. My incredibly supportive and creative wife jumped on board and that's what we did.
You can buy Devar's Journal right now on Amazon!
A little bit about the book: Devar's Journal is a children's novel. My hope is that parents and children can enjoy this quick, fast-paced book together. It's a nod to C.S. Lewis. It's faith-centered and parallels parts of the gospel. I love telling stories and that's what this is. A story of lost and renewed hope. A story of defeat and victory. A story of love and sacrifice. A story that you might find yourself lost in.
Take a look and please leave a review on Amazon. I'd really appreciate you passing the gravy, just like you loyals have always done & get the word out about my newest venture.
