Blowing or Bowling Your Resolutions?

Over two weeks into the New Year and there is one question that has to be answered?

When does the New Year fade into just another year?

When do you lose the drive that you start the year with?

Goals are an incredibly difficult thing to keep.

Saturday the girls and I went out on a daddy daughter date. We love them. I take that opportunity to spoil them a little and always give them advice about future boyfriends. Ellie Grace turned six a few weeks ago and she will be able to date in twelve years, so it's never too early to start.

The daddy daughter date consists of them picking where we eat, along with something fun to do. They chose sushi and bowling. What cultured girls we are raising? It's like a Kardashian meets Jase Robertson from Duck Dynasty.

If you've been keeping up with the Gravy, you know that my youngest daughter's goal was to be a better bowler this year (Three Things To Learn From a Four-Year-Old's Resolution).

So how is Chloe doing?

Chloe's 1st Score

Two weeks ago she scored a 73.

A week later she scored a 74. Please ignore the lack of my bowling progress.

By the way, since when do you have to bowl at your own risk? Tomorrow's post "300 Reasons You Should Bowl at Your Own Risk". Not really.

Did you noticed that she scored one pin higher? That raised her average to 73.5. Yeah, I can drop the mad stats like an ESPN analyst. Not only that, but she did it totally by herself and even knocked down her first spare.

It was difficult work.

Work that requires intense focus.

Bowling Focus

Work that left her frustrated at times.

Bowling Frustration

But she did what all great bowlers do. She bowled on! When progress seemed slow she didn't blow off her goal, she just kept bowling.

Keep Bowling

It is too early for you to lose focus on your goal. The best is yet to come, if you will keep pushing.

Go after your goal like Dance Moms on Lifetime go for crazy. Yes, it's hard work. No, it isn't fun. If it were, you would already be doing it. Keep at it because although you might just knock down one more pin, that is still growth.

Don't blow off your goals, bowl them down like Chloe.

Corny? Just slightly.

Question:
Have you given up yet?
