A Chicken Confession

I have a confession to make.

There is a chance you'll never think of me the same.

But I have to get it off of my chest. I'm tired of living in the shadow of shame, regret, and embarrassment. I feel like a horrible Christian since we've been told to rally behind these people. But I can't live the way that other Christians want me to.

Once I tried to open up about my feelings with a group of Christian men at church and I was persecuted for my belief.  They acted like I was messing up theology about the Trinity or something.

Here it is:

I prefer Zaxby's to Chick-Fil-A.

Don't get me wrong, I like Chick-Fil-A chicken.

I've tried my hardest to love it. I've forced my family to eat it at times that they didn't want to. Tears have been shed.

But if there is a Chick-Fil-A and a Zaxby's side-by-side and I have to make a choice and it isn't a Sunday. I'm going to Zaxby's.

Sure Chick-Fil-A's food is good. And their milkshakes are delicious. Growing up, the toothpick samples they offered at the mall were never passed by this guy. They have an unbelievable leader in Dan Cathy. He runs his company like every company should--with mission and vision. I appreciate that they stick to their morals. I love that they're closed on Sundays. I love that you can dress up like a cow and get a free meal once a year.

But the heart wants what the heart wants. And my heart agrees with my tastebuds.

www.christiangravy.comZaxby's chicken is better.

Zaxby's isn't run by Satan though.

Zaxby's seems to be run by good people driven by morals, vision, and mission as well.

For instance, whenever my order is taken in the drive-thru the worker always says, "I look forward to serving you..." I totally believe that they do.

Or how about yesterday? Guess what they were for Easter? Closed, just like Chick-Fil-a. Look at that sign.

Consider how they got Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty to be their spokesperson. What's more Christian approved than Duck Dynasty? Chick-Fil-A maybe, but Duck Dynasty has to be in the top ten. (Well played, Zaxby's!)

So perhaps you think I'm loco for my confession. But really the only thing you can accuse me of is being pollo loco for Zaxby's chicken. Whether it is plain, dipped, on a bun, or in a salad, Zaxby's chicken is indescribably good! So indescribably good it's better than Chick-Fil-A.

Can't their be room in heaven for a Chick-Fil-A and a Zaxby's?

What do you think: Zaxby's or Chick-Fil-A?
